Product features and benefits

- pH-neutral & safe for wax and coatings: The shampoo has a neutral pH, which means it effectively dissolves dirt without stripping away existing protective layers. Have you just had a ceramic coating applied? Then simply carry on washing with Super Wash.
- 100% plant-based & biodegradable: Made from sustainable, plant-based surfactants that are completely biodegradable after use. Some of the raw materials are sourced from Dutch farmers, ensuring that the supply chain remains short and transparent. No harmful phosphates, no harsh synthetic solvents.
- A rich, stable lather for scratch-free washing: The thick foam immediately traps sand and fine dust as soon as the washing glove touches the surface. That’s not just a cosmetic trick – it’s the reason why you don’t see any swirls or wash marks after drying.
- Highly concentrated: Just 30 to 50 ml per 10-litre bucket. A 500 ml bottle will therefore easily last for 10 to 16 cleaning sessions, depending on the level of soiling.
- Streak-free shine: Rinses off cleanly and completely, leaving no limescale marks or soap residue on the paintwork.
Why pH-neutral and organic are the right choice
Many cheap car shampoos are slightly alkaline. That may sound harmless, but alkaline products gradually break down the wax layer on your paintwork – a little more with every wash. After four or five washes, you can clearly see the difference in water repellency. A pH-neutral car shampoo Products such as Purus Super Wash leave the protective layer intact, which means that the investment you’ve made in wax or a coating will last much longer.
The label biodegradable This also warrants some explanation. Purus uses plant-based surfactants – surface-active substances derived from plant fatty acids – which are broken down by micro-organisms in sewage without leaving any persistent residues. This is fundamentally different from petrochemical surfactants, which can accumulate in the environment.
How to use Purus Super Wash – step by step
- Fast-forward: Rinse the car thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water – or use a pre-wash product such as Purus Snow Foam – to remove loose sand and coarse dirt from the paintwork before you start using the wash mitt.
- Mixing: Add 30 ml (routine wash, light soiling) to 50 ml (heavily soiled vehicle) of Purus Super Wash to a bucket containing 10 litres of warm water. Spray a powerful jet of water into the bucket whilst stirring to maximise foam formation.
- Washing: Wash the vehicle from top to bottom using a clean microfibre wash mitt. Use the two-bucket method: one bucket of soapy water and one bucket of clean rinse water to rinse the mitt out in between.
- Rinsing & drying: Rinse with a gentle, wide stream of water, working from top to bottom. Dry immediately with a large microfibre cloth to prevent water marks and limescale streaks.
Dilution table:
| Situation | Dosage per 10 litres of water |
|---|---|
| Routine wash (vehicle washed regularly) | 10 ml |
| Standard wash | 15 ml |
| Heavily soiled vehicle | 25 ml |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Purus Super Wash safe for cars with a ceramic coating?
Yes. As the shampoo is pH-neutral, it does not damage existing protective layers – such as ceramic coatings, glass coatings or waxes. You can continue to use it after every wash without the protective effect being reduced.
Can I also use this car shampoo in a foam cannon?
Purus Super Wash was primarily developed as a hand-wash shampoo and works perfectly in that application. Thanks to its excellent foaming properties, it can also be used as a mild foam product in a foam cannon. However, for a completely contactless pre-wash, Purus offers the Snow Foam 500ml, which has been specially formulated for foam cannons.
What makes this shampoo ‘organic’?
The active cleansing agents – surfactants – are derived from vegetable fatty acids. After use, they are completely broken down by micro-organisms in the waste water and leave no persistent chemical residues in the environment. Some of the raw materials are sourced from Dutch farmers, which keeps the supply chain short.
How long does a 500ml bottle last?
At a dosage of 11 ml per wash, you can easily get 45 washes out of one bottle. Even with heavier soiling and 50 ml per wash, you’ll still get 10 washes. For most domestic users, a bottle will therefore last two to four months.
Is Purus Super Wash also suitable for matt paintwork or vinyl wrap?
Yes. The shampoo does not contain any gloss-enhancing waxes or polymers that could clog matt surfaces or compromise their matt finish. This makes it one of the few shampoos that you can use on matt paintwork, wraps or films without any reservations.
Combine with other Purus products

For best results, use Purus Super Wash as part of a complete washing process:
- Purus Snow Foam 500ml – Use this as a contactless pre-wash in your foam cannon to dislodge coarse dirt and sand from the paintwork before you fit the wash mitt. This significantly reduces the risk of scratches.
- Microfibre drying cloth – Always dry with a soft, large microfibre cloth straight after rinsing to prevent water marks and limescale streaks.
A good car-washing routine isn’t complicated, but the order in which you do things and the products you choose make all the difference between a car that looks even better after washing and one that looks just a little less good than it did before.
